Alaska’s wildlife and breathtaking landscapes have always been a source of inspiration for numerous artists such as Henry David Thoreau or Christopher Mac Candless as described in the book Into The Wild and also … John Denver !
The famous singer who wrote « Take me home country roads » also wrote a song about Alaska entitled « To the wild country » released in 1977. The title says it all. In this song, John Denver talks about Alaska as a territory of freedom where he can relax peacefully in the nature far away from all his daily life struggles.
« To the mountains, I can rest there
To the rivers, I will be strong
To the forest, I'll find peace there
To the wild country, where I belong »
We got you John and might even join you soon to the wild country !
